Overview:
Econozy is a personal finance app that helps understand spending and stay on track with financial goals through expense insights, goal tracking, and simple transfers. I led end-to-end design and built the working MVP, from research and wireframes to high-fidelity UI.
Impact:
Launched beta app with 100+ downloads using Cursor AI, Xcode.
Boosted user motivation by 45% by introducing visual goal progress and Boost Goal nudges.
Validated demand for automated savings suggestions, with 80% of users responding positively during usability testing.
Problems:
Users struggle to stay motivated and track financial goals due to scattered expense data, and research revealed four key personal finance pain points.

Research:
Followed the human-centred design method and conducted some surveys and interviews.

Competitor Analysis:
Competitor analysis revealed gaps in seamless money transfers and overall experience.


Design Concepts:
Concept 1: Focus on Clarity
Why clarity? So that users can easily track and manage expenses, helping them better understand their spending habits.
Concept 2: Focus on Motivation
Why motivation? So that users stay focused on their financial goals and get timely nudges to spend wisely.
Concept 3: Focus on Control
Why control? So that users can easily manage credit cards and send money with confidence, without switching between platforms.
Usability Testing Results:
I conducted usability testing to observe how users interacted with goal tracking and financial report features. Two key insights emerged.


Development:
I built the app using Cursor AI and Xcode, and it’s currently in beta testing via TestFlight on the App Store.
User Feedback:
Positive Findings
45% of users felt more motivated after using visual goal progress and Boost Goal suggestions.
80% of users showed strong interest in automated savings, driving proactive goal transfer prompts.
Improvements
Add quick access buttons for frequently used features like adding expenses and viewing budgets.
Enhance the notification system to provide timely alerts for budget limits.
